Your Facilitators

Meet Kay’la of Ma’la Studio and Kristina of Rooted Heart.

Kay'la Fraser is a certified yoga teacher, Reiki Level II practitioner, and freelance arts worker/educator.

Kristina is a certified yoga teacher, forest therapy guide, ecologist, and outdoor educator.

Both are feelers, dreamers, lovers, and laughers. We met while teaching yoga in Peterborough, Ontario. When we are together, the air hums with the energy of endless possibilities, deep sisterhood love, and often, a good dose of silliness Can you feel it? We can't wait to share it with you.

Yoga & Meditation

With Kay’la and Kristina teaching, you can expect a yoga practice that is always mindful and based in kindness. They will be sharing a variety of practices including restorative, gentle, and vinyasa style flows throughout the weekend.

While yoga mats, blocks, and blankets will be available, you are also welcome to bring your own props.

Forest Bathing and Nature connection

Your retreat is located on a beautiful riverfront property along the Maitland River. You will be able to spend as much of your time outdoors as you like, enjoying the river, forest, and surrounding countryside. There will be opportunities for enjoying the outdoor hot tub and cross country skis or snowshoes as well!

In addition, Kristina will guide us on a forest bathing walk designed to help you reconnect with the natural world that we are all a part of. This practice calls us to slow down and get in tune with our senses, the way nature intended. We will walk a short distance while taking part in a variety of nature connection activities designed to suit our surroundings and the weather of the day, share our experiences within the group, and enjoy a special wild-crafted herbal tea.

The Renewal Retreat

Your retreat will take place at a cozy riverfront cottage located about 1 hour west of Kitchener or 2 hours west of Hamilton. It is a space that cultivates wellness, peace, and community. We will share the space throughout the weekend, whether practicing yoga, co-creating art or writing activities, or soaking in the hot tub. Our meals will be planned and prepared by Kay’la and Kristina, with everyone having an opportunity to give back to our retreat community by offering a hand in the communal kitchen.
