Slow down, unplug, and reconnect with yourself and the natural world.

This yoga & nature retreat will offer you guided meditation, yoga, and forest therapy practices, as well as opportunities for reflection and solitude. Our special weekend together will take place at Harmony Dawn Retreat Centre. With environmentally conscious features throughout, design that encourages flow of Chi, and amazing vegetarian meals prepared by chef Nicola Lawrence James, Harmony Dawn provides the perfect setting for deep relaxation and rejuvenation. You will leave this retreat with a new sense of intentions for the year ahead and a toolbox of nourishing self-care practices to bring into your daily life.

Retreat Highlights

 

Yoga and Meditation

Practices offered will include morning meditation, grounding and gentle yoga flows, various restorative modalities, and breathwork. Truly accessible to all levels, instruction is provided from the perspective of helping participants turn inwards and cultivate self-care. Our beautiful practice room features wrap around floor to ceiling windows, facing an open meadow.


Forest Bathing and Nature connection

Guided forest bathing (or Forest Therapy) sessions will be provided to help participants connect more deeply with the natural world. This practice invites you to let the healing properties of the forest wash over you by calling you to notice your senses, move slowly, explore your own unique connection journey, and be supported by a group atmosphere of openness and respectful listening. Each practice includes walking a short distance, a variety of nature connection invitations designed to suit the surroundings and the weather of the day, opportunities to share with the group about your noticings, and we end with a wild foraged tea ceremony. Nature connection can also be cultivated through personal time spent on the trails, or going for a dip in nearby Rice Lake.

Your facilitators

Monica Sheridan of Queen Street Yoga and Kristina Domsic of Rooted Heart completed their Yoga Teacher Training together at Queen Street Yoga in 2014. They have both continued their studies of Ayurveda, the Tensegrity Repair Series, and Restorative Yoga. Kristina is also a certified Forest Therapy Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. Monica is also certified in Massage Therapy through the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Both enjoy gentle and exploratory movement paired with expansive breath awareness and grounded meditation, and weave the ideas of inner wisdom and self care throughout their offerings.
